Having been a member of Ealing Eagles for around 18 months I thought it was time to start giving something back to the club. I’ve previously taken part in my fair share of tail running during the club runs and marshalling the occasional race.
I am currently helping out with the successful beginners programme and recently have taken on the role of assisting the race director in the management of the Ealing Eagles 10k.
The 10k takes place in Gunnersbury Park on Sunday 8th May, 2016 at 10.30am. It’s a fast, flat course in West London with masses of support on the day plus chip timing, goody bags and fantastic bespoke medals.
Rhian and I have been taking part in 2 trampoline academy sessions at the Oxygen Jumping centre in Acton. The sessons were well run and the coaching was excellent. There is so much energy at the centre with a variety of areas focused around using trampolines in various different ways. I can see this sport evolving over the next few years and Trampolining as an Olympic sport being very different than it is today.
Having really enjoyed the trampolining before Christmas we decided to go to a few more sessions (5 in total now) and have developed a number of additional skills, including the front drop, back drop, routines and even tried a forward somersault into the pit. Overall the sessions have been great, although they last 2 did get a bit busy. Something that we’ll probably continue from time to time.
